Adam has over 10 years’ experience in the development of economic-related strategies and policies, including the development of international trade policy and industry policy. He is highly experienced in public sector planning and leading high performing project teams. Adam has advised South Australian Government ministers and has worked on the development of range of significant economic policies in South Australia.
Adam has broad experience in international trade policy, economic policy and industry development issues. He has worked with the manufacturing, ICT, knowledge intensive business services and defence sectors.
Project experience
International trade policy
- led the development of the South Australian Government's export development policy for five years
- developed South Australia's policy positions for the Australia-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA), the Singapore-Australia FTA and the Thailand-Australia FTA
- led the development and wrote the South Australian Government's 2004 Export Policy: Beyond Local, Towards Global
- reviewed the operations of the South Australian Overseas Commercial Office Network, examining both strategic policy issues and operational effectiveness.
Economic development
- supported the South Australian economic development board in the preparation of its 2009 economic statement, examining policy issues and developing economic modelling
- project managed the 2010-11 review of South Australia's population policy
- provided economic analysis on a range of economic indicators to the South Australian government.
Industry development
- led industry development strategies for the knowledge intensive business services and advanced manufacturing sectors within South Australia
- participated in project reviews of a range of investment attraction initiatives
- worked on the development of skills audits in the electronics, defence and IT sectors in South Australia.
Strategic and business planning
- participated in whole-of-agency strategic planning exercises
- led the development of business plans within the international division of the South Australian Department of Trade and Economic Development.

Past employment
Adam has worked in various economic development roles across the South Australian government. He has also worked in the South Australian Cabinet Office, advising the Premier on a range of economic development issues.
Interests
Adam spends as much time as he can with his wife and three young children. He has a strong interest in political science and history. An AFL fan, his winter weekends are spent watching his two boys play the game.
