Professional development of our graduates

Career progression is definitely possible at Nous. We are committed to and take professional development seriously. However, there are no time bound expectations of progress: people develop at their own pace, provided they are performing well.

We have Nousers who have progressed from admin based roles into consulting, and graduates who have progressed from consultant to senior consultant.

Ben Barnett – joined Nous as a graduate and progressed to senior consultant

In my time at Nous, my expectations have been more than exceeded.

Not only do I get to work for a rapidly growing management consulting firm, but I get to work on a variety of projects across innumerable sectors. Already I have had opportunities to manage projects, and to work directly with CEOs. The projects are interesting and engaging, and privilege – above all else – the need to offer positive influence. Nous provides me with the autonomy I need to focus on my development, but also the support to ensure that I reach my potential.

Indeed, I am learning more than ever before.

Tuvan Rochford – joined Nous early in her career and is now a senior consultant (currently on extended leave)

My Nous life is extremely varied, which is just how it was planned, but with Nous you have plenty of support to help you succeed. At Nous there are career support and mentor programs, which are an important and significant part of career direction.

My first few projects were in the leadership and people development practice. I then moved into the organisational capability practice working on organisational design, workforce and culture issues. Finally I have found my home in the information management and technology practice where my projects look at how information can help organisations to improve their business and service delivery to make a positive impact on the community.

From a career building perspective the first year and a half was exhausting, stretching and challenging. However, my growth far exceeded my expectations. I can now confidently approach most projects with the skills I’ve learned here at Nous. The next steps in my career involve searching for more work that contributes to the positive influence in our society.

My list of clients is impressive (I must say!). But more than this, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients on issues that are important to both of us.
