Joe is a clear, logical thinker who is by nature inquisitive and passionate about learning. His professional experience is shared across project management and public policy analysis, where he draws on a background working for NGOs, parliamentarians, research centres and in private business.

Contact Joe Bartlett-Marques
Joe has worked primarily in the financial services sector since joining Nous, both in banking and superannuation. Prior to joining Nous, Joe’s focus lay in public policy and political advice where he worked in the Federal Parliament and for one of Australia’s top schools of government.
Project experience
Joe’s recent project experience at Nous includes:

a business banking strategy project for a major Australian bank. He conducted analysis of the business’s customers and industry trends, examined their financials and investigated possible sites for new branches across Australia

financial modelling for a client in financial services. He built a flexible financial model that could forecast the financial impacts of different price models, demand curves, partnership configurations and combination of products and services

survey analysis for a public sector client in NSW. In this project, Joe analysed survey data across various demographic groups and regions and presented the report internally to the client team

an education sector strategy and organisational design project. Joe is currently working on a major project to set the strategy, organisational values, the business model and the organisational design for a VET sector client in NSW.

- Bachelor of Philosophy (International Relations) (1st Class Hons), Australian National University
- Joe has also studied abroad as an undergraduate at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands.
Past employment
Before joining Nous, Joe held several positions and internships, including as a project manager organising high-level meetings and international conferences at the Australian National University’s Crawford School and as a policy intern with UNESCO in Hamburg, Germany. He has also worked and interned on both sides of politics in the Parliament of Australia, tutored International Relations at the Australian National University and advised on business strategy to a Canberra-based medium sized health and fitness company.
Interests
Joe is a keen squash player. His most memorable achievement playing squash came when he captained the Oxford squash team to their first win in several years against Cambridge in their annual varsity match.
