Nous Turnarounds

Our Work
Nous has developed an in-depth understanding of organisations through working with leaders and managers across the country and internationally. This understanding translates into tangible and real results for clients.
The Nous Group operates an active pro bono program wherein consulting services are provided at discounted or no-cost basis to non-profit organisations in Australia.
The budget for the firm’s pro bono program is linked to the overall revenue of the business: As the Nous Group grows, so does the extent of its pro bono commitment.
Alignment with the Nous Group’s five ‘reasons for being’ is the critical factor determining whether we undertake specific pro bono opportunities. Our reasons for being are:
| For clients | Reason for being | For staff |
| We commit to delivering real and lasting benefits to our clients | Positive influence | We work on issues that matter with organisations to deliver important services to their customers and communities |
| We think hard with originality, to go well beyond received wisdom to deliver better outcomes | Intellectual stimulation | We seek to work on interesting issues with stimulating people in challenging organisations |
| We tap and enhance the energy inherent in client organisations to unleash peoples’ potential | Energy and growth | We expect people to grow, and enjoy full lives inside and outside of Nous |
| We have a firm, professional duty to our clients, underpinned by a close personal engagement | Care and connection | We care for and support each other, particularly when times are tough |
| We deliver results so clients get full value for money | Revenue and profit | We deliver results so that we can pay our way |
Examples of pro bono projects completed by the Nous Group include:
- Development of a national expansion plan for an accommodation service addressing youth homelessness.
- Facilitation skills training for leaders at an indigenous community medical organisation and an environmental advocacy group.
- Evaluation of a program pilot for a non-profit addressing skills development for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Advice and strategy facilitation for two philanthropic organisations in the education sector undertaking a merger.
