Sarah brings extensive experience in public sector health to her work at Nous. She also has several years’ experience in organisational transition and culture change.

Project experience

Sarah wrote the strategy for National Health Reform stakeholder engagement and has also been involved in a number of consultations to evaluate health service delivery and inform the development of health strategy.

Sarah has a wealth of experience in the development and implementation of public policy, particularly in a health context. She has deep knowledge of health service delivery issues including Primary Care Partnerships, eHealth, service coordination, National Health Reforms and health promotion. She has worked with stakeholders including community health, hospitals, GP Divisions, clinicians, government departments and health informatics industry.

Prior to joining Nous, Sarah led the redesign of the Problem Gambling Health Promotion Program for the Victorian Department of Justice. Her key achievements in this role include:

  • Managed the redesign of the Victorian Governments’ strategic approach to the prevention and treatment of problem gambling. This involved the state‑wide roll-out of the new service delivery model across 31 Gamblers Help agencies and Primary Care Partnerships.
  • Developed operational guidelines, performance management framework and new KPIs to govern the program and ensure it aligned with the objectives of Primary Care Partnerships and broader Department of Health policy.
  • Established effective policy review processes, including a stakeholder reference group, which ensured that stakeholder perspectives were incorporated into the policy governing the problem gambling program.

Sarah has a strong interest in high performance workplaces. She is accredited in the Organisational Effectiveness Profile (OEP) tool and has worked with a recently established government agency to implement the tool and develop a strategic approach to the findings. Sarah has also designed capability development for managers and staff in working within a high performance framework.

Past employment

Prior to Nous Sarah worked at Standards Australia where she managed the development of 38 health informatics standards and ensured the standards aligned with the National eHealth agenda. This involved facilitating consensus among key stakeholders including government, clinicians, peak bodies, health informatics industry and NEHTA.

Interests

Sarah is active and involved in different sports. Her most recent sporting achievement was swimming in the Coles Classic from Shelly Beach to Manly. She has tried many types of yoga and has now moved on to pilates. Sarah also enjoys discovering new restaurants.
