Project experience

Simonne’s work combines a strong interest in working on complex public policy issues and extensive policy experience from her six years with the Victorian Government.

Relevant examples of Simonne's strategy and public policy consulting experience include:

• Developed a business case template and assisted with training in its use for the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Victoria
• Worked closely with a national not-for-profit organisation and its Board to develop a three year strategic plan
• Worked with a national not-for-profit to develop pilot proposals for consideration by the Commonwealth Government
• Developing options for a national strategy for a Commonwealth Government department
• Conducting an evaluation of two infrastructure programs for a Victorian Government department.

Simonne worked for over three years as a Senior Ministerial Adviser to Bronwyn Pike, the former Victorian Minister for Education, Skills and Workforce Participation, where she was the key adviser on government schools. Simonne was responsible for providing strategic advice on:

• Government school reform
• School leadership initiatives  
• Literacy and numeracy improvement strategies
• ICT projects
• Koorie education
• Higher education
• Whole-of-government initiatives including A Fairer Victoria.

Simonne also has strong policy experience from roles in the Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Department of Education, Victoria. Simonne worked closely on the development of Victoria’s human capital reforms under the COAG National Reform Agenda and has a strong understanding of Commonwealth-State relations.
