$80m of savings through integration of two large government organisations
The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources (DIPNR) (NSW) engaged Nous to undertake a major integration engagement.
The project mapped what the new department needed to deliver against what was previously delivered by the two antecedent organisations. Nous then developed DIPNR's service delivery blueprint which specified the services to be delivered by business line. The blueprint also recommended improvements in service delivery and business processes, allocated resources to services and business lines (and units), and provided change management and an implementation plan for the necessary changes. Nous worked extensively with the departmental executive team and a large team of departmental staff and underpinned the priorities with a rigorous budgeting process.
The blueprint was praised by the Premier and senior Treasury officials and subsequently used by the organisation. $80m of integration savings were also identified and captured by the organisation as part of implementation.
