Content management strategy boosts value of leading health information website
With over 11 million visits per year, Victoria’s Better Health Channel web site is Australia’s premier on-line health information resource. BHC faces strategic challenges from technological changes and its reliance on pro bono contributions by its content partners.The Department of Human Services engaged Nous to develop a content management strategy to ensure BHC remains effective in delivering high value to Victorians.
Nous analysed BHC operations and consulted widely with more than 250 content partners. Nous developed investment logic and a best practice modelfor content management and used these to map “as is” and “to be” goals on a multi-dimensional capability maturity model. Nous articulated the business logic for continued investment in BHC and recommended action to better support DHS strategic goals with improved processes, robust governance and strategic marketing.
DHS approved implementation of the strategy using a realistic practical three year plan developed by Nous.
