This Australian based global engineering professional services firm engaged Nous to review its strategic global position, help define an optimal global position and identify actions required to achieve the optimal position. This firm had grown overseas organically and through M&As. This growth occurred as business units were encouraged to be entrepreneurial with the result that it was not aligned to strategic intent and did not capitalise on coordination opportunities across business units.
After interviewing leaders across the organisation and analysing financial and country data, Nous reviewed the firm's global positioning and comprehensively assessed cross-business units. Nous also identified a number of strategic global opportunities and developed a framework for strategic global positioning, including governance models to support strategic investment and decisions.
