Victorian SME's access to government services improved

The Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (DIIRD) (now Department of Business Innovation, DBI) engaged Nous to review how it could most effectively assist small businesses access quality advice from accountants, lawyers, marketing firms and other specialist advisors.

Nous reviewed performance information on the Departments' small business support program, and interviewed SMEs, peak industry bodies for a number of service providers and key stakeholders within the government. A series of opportunities were developed for the Department and an assessment methodology for determining the optimal approach.

After the priority opportunities were agreed with the Department, Nous developed implementation roadmaps which were used by project managers to establish two new online initiatives for small businesses.
