Culture analysis and change process delivers significant drop in attrition
Nous worked with the Department of Trade and Economic Development (DTED) in South Australia to manage a large-scale culture change program, the Aurora Project.
We undertook deep analysis of the current culture through extensive internal and external consultation and a tailored cultural survey (distributed across the organisation). Nous proposed six signature change projects to address the major culture gaps identified through the consultations and survey. We provided one-on-one coaching to DTED's project leaders and also coached the project teams on how best to work with each other. Coaching involved trouble-shooting of pressing issues, building capability in project management and ensuring the projects were set up and managed for success. Nous also set up and ran a project governance committee with the chief and deputy chief executives, the GM HR, the GM Strategy and all project leaders to ensure timely and seamless communication and cross-fertilisation of ideas.
Staff turnover reduced by 50% following the project and staff reported higher levels of engagement and commitment.
