Enabling Department of Defence to effectively communicate and advise government
The Department of Defence engaged Nous to design and deliver a two tiered skill development program aimed at improving the communication and advisory skills of senior managers when dealing with Ministers.
Tier one, created for EL1 and EL2 levels, focuses on theoretical and practical examples of complex communications between the public service and the Minister's offices. Tier two is designed for SES 1, 2 & 3 and has a more strategic focus by asking participants to examine the needs of the Minister's office in communications from senior leadership inside the department.
These two programs, in conjunction with each other, have improved the quality and timeliness of advice between the Commonwealth public service and their Ministers. These programs are fully endorsed by the Secretary and Chief of the Defence Force.
