Enhanced marginal abatement cost curve identifies significant abatement opportunities

Nous worked with SKM to develop an enhanced marginal abatement cost curve for Queensland. The cost curve assisted the Office of Climate Change within the Environmental Protection Agency to develop climate change related policy. The study looked across the Stationary Energy, Transport, Agriculture, Forestry and Land Use, Waste and Industrial Processes sectors to identify market failures where emissions abatement potential is available at a net economic gain. The final report confirmed significant abatement opportunities and was accepted by the client as a significant influence in the review of Queensland's Climate Change Strategy.
