Expert advice informs development of crime prevention strategy for Victoria

Nous was engaged by the Victorian Department of Justice to review the effectiveness of programs under the 'Safer Streets and Homes' strategy and to provide strategic advice on the development of a new strategy for 2005 onwards. The review involved engaging stakeholders both within government and in key service delivery organisations. We also analysed performance information provided by managers of a series of specific projects. In the final stages of the assignment, we acted as a 'critical friend' assisting the department's senior executives to successfully build support from central agencies and various ministerial forums for their proposed new crime prevention strategy.
