Improving stakeholder relationships and partnerships for a leading Australian education initiative

A not‑for‑profit social enterprise committed to facilitating alternative pathways into teaching engaged Nous to create a stakeholder engagement strategy and approach to improve relationships with each of its key stakeholder groups and partners. These relationships are critical to the success of the organisation’s programs and an essential support to the organisation’s wider mission and strategy.

Nous mapped existing relationships and assessed the quality and alignment of each stakeholder with the organisation’s mission. We then diagnosed potential issues, opportunities and synergies, and qualified the effect of a number of key initiatives they could pursue. Development of these initiatives required Nous to work closely with the client team to clarify value propositions, management structures and governance arrangements. Nous also created a quantitative measurement of the organisation’s value to external stakeholders to help communicate its contribution to the education market. Finally, all the key options were presented along with a recommended and practical strategy and implementation time-frame to suit management priorities.

The report went to the CEO and the Board, and has helped to reshape the thinking and direction of organisation.
