Industry development plan for Victorian community care
The Victorian Community Care Coalition, a group of 19 service providers and advocacy organisations backed by the Helen McPherson Smith Trust, engaged Nous to review community care services for the aged and to advise on the optimal strategy for improving the breadth and quality of these services. Nous analysed existing funding and service delivery arrangements, developed options for testing with stakeholders and provided recommendations for a series of reforms to improve outcomes for clients and manage the expected massive demand growth. Nous presented a compelling case for the additional Commonwealth and state funding required to provide such care, and evidence that such funding would be cost-effective. The report received significant media attention and has been widely cited in the debate regarding how best to manage the ageing of the Australian population.
