Review of the Council for the Australian Federation

Nous was engaged to review the performance of the Council for the Australian Federation (CAF) and its Secretariat. The CAF consists of the First Minister from each state and territory. Nous undertook extensive consultations with First Ministers (premiers and chief ministers) and heads of their Departments, and assessed CAF's past performance against its objectives. As a result of the project, the CAF was continued, with some changes to its approach; the CAF Secretariat role became a mobile role – moving with the Chairmanship of the CAF on an annual basis.
