Review of university's HR service delivers clarity
Nous was engaged by a major Australian university to review the case for moving to a full shared services model.
Through stakeholder interviews and a detailed data-gathering exercise, where staff supplied estimates of time/effort spent on key HR tasks across the employment lifecycle, Nous analysed the case for a shared services model against four key criteria: cost, customer service and satisfaction, quality, and strategic imperatives. Nous identified a number of potential process improvements that would benefit the client.
Our report was well-received by the client and the recommendations, unanimously accepted. As a result of the project the university gained a clear, impeccably-argued case, together with a suite of useful, decision-making tools and criteria with which to assess alternate service models that might be considered in the future.
