Successful partnerships built between enterprise and business unit IT areas

A major Australian insurance company sought to improve the quality of service of the Enterprise Information Technology Team (EIT) to IT teams within all of its business units. The executive EIT team implemented a major business transformation initiative including a change in organisational design, systems and processes. As part of this initiative, the EIT executive engaged Nous to design and deliver a development program to enhance EIT's ability to build successful partnerships with business unit IT areas.

Nous designed and delivered a program called Building Successful Partnerships. The initial workshops involved the development of executive and middle managers capabilities so that the change program to be effective. All EIT staff then participated in a common core module followed by additional modules. Different streams targeted the different ways that EIT staff worked with business unit IT areas. The streams were Problem Solver, Designer and Relationship Manager. The program was further supported by manager-led team meetings and review workshops for managers. Nous successfully delivered 58 workshops to 400 EIT staff.

The EIT executive, managers, staff and internal customers reported significant improvement in the way EIT people engaged with their customers in the business unit IT teams. The improved work relationships created improved business outcomes.
