Twenty-five year vision for energy transmission and distribution network

A major energy transmission network operator engaged Nous to produce separate 25 year visions for its electricity transmission network and gas and electricity distribution networks.

Nous used intensive staff involvement in research and workshops to ensure skills transfer, and to build strategic awareness, flexibility and long term thinking across the company. Our analysis delivered a striking and detailed picture of the potentially disruptive impact of possible new technologies on existing network operation and management concepts, and highlighted the business opportunities embedded within these developments. We worked with managers and staff to identify business capabilities needed to meet possible long term challenges and produced roadmaps to build these capabilities with identified triggers for action.

Our analysis has been a major influence on the operator's long term business planning. The projects energised staff and built a culture of ownership of the business opportunities ahead.
